RTML Transfer FAQs

How do I get the latest version of the RTML Template Transfer Utility?

Simply go to the product information page and use the download link.

What does the bottom window show?

The bottom Internet Explorer window has two distinct purposes. First, it is where the uploading and downloading of the templates occurs. Second, this window will also notify you if there is a new version of the program available.

Is there a limit to the number of templates it can transfer?

The demo version of the program can upload/download 5 templates. The full purchased version has unlimited template downloads, and uploads can be purchased in packs or via subscription service in order to allow you to upload as many templates as you would like..

How are points used?

The demo version of the program uses one point per template upload or download. The purchased version uses one point per upload but allows unlimited downloads.

Can I use multiple Yahoo IDs? Can upload points be shared?

Multiple Yahoo IDs can be supported easily. If you purchase the program using a primary Yahoo ID you can then send us an e-mail listing your secondary IDs and they will be listed under your primary ID. This allows points to be used by any of your Yahoo IDs and for each upload the primary account will be debited.

How long does it take to upload each template?

Templates upload through the same process as if you were to manually create them so the time to upload a template is dependent on the size of the template as well as the speed of your internet connection and Yahoo's servers. The uploader will move much quicker than any person could, but it still takes time. You are free to work on your computer while the program is operating as long as you don't attempt to work on the same template.

What happens if the upload fails since the program removes the point at the start of the upload?

The program will automatically credit your upload point back if the upload does not complete or does not get at least 80% of the template uploaded.

When copying templates between stores how do I have it change the prefix in the template name and the CALL statements?

Download your templates as normal. When you go to upload simply use the Change Prefix boxes (from and to) and put the old store ID in the from and the new store ID in the to. Any templates uploaded will have their name changed as well as all CALL statements will be changed also.

Can I edit the downloaded templates off-line?

There is no off-line editor provided with the program, but you can edit the files using any standard text editor or Microsoft Excel (save as tab delimited text). As long as your edits conform to the correct format they will upload just fine.

Can I add notes or comments in the templates?

If you edit the downloaded template files you can put notes on separate lines. Simply place a single quote ' or a double dash -- as the first characters in a new line and they will not be uploaded.

Are there any oddities when downloading/uploading templates?

When uploading/downloading copies of the standard templates there are a few changes in the templates that the program has to make due to the fact that the editor can't create the items even though it can copy templates that contain these items.

  1. One parameter used in the price. templates is automatically changed from br? to brk because br? can't be entered in the editor.
  2. The one template (and the references to it) that has a + in the name has the + changed automatically to a -- (for the same reason).
  3. In the order. template there is a line that starts with "string /=" that has been removed. It can only be copied in the interface. This is the only one of these 3 items that could affect functionality but basically I believe this means that if there is no availability set for an item or the variable it will still show the word availability: without anything following it possibly, assuming they even show availability on the pages. This can be fixed by copying the existing order. template and copying that one line back in place but I figure most don't need it really and it adds a lot of complexity to get this one line and only affects full site copies (which really you could copy that one template and then do a full site copy minus that one template).
Will this program work on my Non U.S. Yahoo Store?

At this time the program has not been completely tested with all the international Yahoo Stores, but all our tests show it functioning perfectly so far. If you have any issues please let us know and we will resolve them.
